Outgoing Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro has promised to continue working tireless towards the development of the state.

Otuaro stated this in his farewell address to Deltans on Monday, while expressing gratitude to his boss, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the opportunity to serve the state with him.

Otuaro said;

“Today, as my tenure as Deputy Governor comes to a close, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the privilege you have bestowed upon me to serve alongside the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Authur Okowa. It has been a journey filled with immense growth, dedication, and the unwavering support of the people of Delta State.

“First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to God Almighty and to you, the incredible people of Delta State. Your unwavering trust, support, and faith in our administration have been the driving force behind our accomplishments. Together, we have transformed aspirations into reality, and today, our state stands as a testament to the power of unity and collective effort.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Authur Okowa, for his exceptional leadership, mentorship, and guidance throughout my tenure. Under his astute governance, Delta State has witnessed unprecedented progress and development across various sectors. His unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people has been truly commendable.

“As we traverse down memory lane, it fills my heart with immense pride to recall the remarkable projects we have undertaken as a government. Together, we have embarked on an ambitious journey to uplift our beloved state, leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of progress.

“From the comprehensive revamping of our healthcare system, providing accessible and quality medical facilities to our people, to the modernization of our educational institutions, and empowering the youth with knowledge and skills for a brighter future, we have made significant strides in ensuring a better tomorrow.

“Our administration has placed a strong emphasis on infrastructure development, resulting in the construction and rehabilitation of vital roads and bridges that have connected communities and enhanced economic activities.

“We have harnessed the potential of agriculture to drive sustainable growth and uplift farmers, empowering them with resources and knowledge to thrive in their endeavors.

“Furthermore, we prioritized peacebuilding and then continued to work for the betterment of our great state and country. Our commitment to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable groups has been at the core of our policies, providing them with opportunities for economic empowerment and social inclusivity.

“None of these achievements would have been possible without the relentless dedication of the hardworking civil servants, government officials, and various stakeholders who have tirelessly contributed to the success of our administration. I extend my sincere appreciation to all of you for your invaluable support and commitment to the welfare of Delta State.

“Today, as I bid farewell to my role as Deputy Governor, I leave with a sense of fulfillment and a deep appreciation for the opportunity I was granted to serve you. The bonds we have formed and the memories we have created will forever remain etched in my heart.

Okowa and his deputy are billed to hand over power to governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevwori and his deputy-elect Monday Onyeme during a ceremony in Asaba, the state capital on Monday.
