BREAKING: Court Gives Judgement On ‘No Work, No Pay’ Suit Between FG, ASUU

BREAKING: Court Gives Judgement On 'No Work, No Pay’ Suit Between FG, ASUU | Daily Report Nigeria

The National Industrial Court has ruled against the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on the no work, no pay suit by the Federal Government.

In its ruling, the court declared that the no work no pay policy enforced by FG against members of ASUU who went on strike in 2022 was perfectly legal.

The judgement delivered by the President of the Court, Justice Benedict Kanyip held that it remained within the right of FG to withhold salaries of workers who embark on industrial action.

However, the court also held that it was a violation of University Autonomy for the FG to impose the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) platform on members of ASUU who have the right to determine how their salaries should be paid.
