Ibrahim Muhammad opened the scoring for the Flying Eagles on 61 minute before Rilwanu Sarki doubled scores in the first minute of added time in the second half.

Argentina, who were dubbed favourite to win the tournament on home soil outplayed the Nigerian side in possession but could not find the back of the net.
