Senator Jibrin Barau has emerged as the Senate Deputy President.

Barau emerged Deputy Senate President after he was nominated by former Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi for the position.

His nomination was seconded by another member-elect, Salisu Mustapha and was unopposed for the position.

Akpabio elected Senate President

Daily Report Nigeria earlier reported that Senator Godswill Akpabio was elected Senate President on Tuesday.

Akpabio wad nominated by Senator Ali Ndume while Yari was nominated by Senator Elisha Abbo.

The inauguration of the 10th Senate and the 10th House of Representatives took place simultaneously within the hallowed halls of the Red and Green Chambers.
