President Bola Tinubu has opposed the tendering of a collection of exhibits showing the total number of Permanent Voters Cards( PVCs) from the 32 states by Mr Peter, Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate at the Presidential Petition Court (PEPC).

Daily Report Nigeria learnt that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC also challenged Obi’s evidence presented before the PEPC on Wednesday in Abuja.

A collection of documents that listed every state’s registered voters was also accepted as evidence by the five-member panel, which was chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani.

Obi presented the exhibits to the court, claiming that Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC rigged the presidential election that took place on February 25.

Obi’s legal team was headed by Dr Livy Uzoukwu, SAN, but Mr Peter Afuba, SAN, another senior member of the team, submitted the exhibits on his behalf.

The petitioners claimed that INEC had properly certified the exhibits but the electoral body asserted that it was vehemently opposed to the admissibility of the exhibits in evidence through the representation of its attorney, Mr Kemi Pinhero, SAN.

President Tinubu and the APC, the second and third respondents in the case, both opposed the exhibits’ admission as evidence.

In their final written address, all of the respondents promised to provide justifications for their objections.

Nonetheless, the court accepted documents detailing the total number of PVCs from the 32 states as evidence and designated them as exhibits PCN 1 through PCN 32.

A certified true copy of a certificate of compliance on exhibits that the petitioners had previously submitted about the state of Edo was also admitted into evidence by the court.

Following the petitioners’ presentation of additional electoral documents, the court admitted certified copies of supplementary IReV reports for three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Benue State, two in Cross River State, twelve in Lagos State, and one in Gombe State.
