The commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, Spencer Okpoye has poured encomiums on the immediate-past governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
Okpoye particularly lauded the ex-governor for finding him worthy for appointment into as DESOPADEC Commissioner before leaving office.
In a statement on Saturday, Okpoye echoed appreciation on Okowa for offering him the privilege to serve his people, Okpoye said;
“Let me begin by congratulating you on the overwhelming victory achieved in the Governorship Election and the State House of Assembly election, coupled with your successful administration as the Executive Governor of our dear state for eight years and the glitch-free ceremony for the handover of the mantle of power to His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewore, the Executive Governor of our dear state.

“Let me also appreciate your leadership style since you have been the Executive Governor of our dear state for the past eight years.
“Your Excellency will recall that a passionate appeal was made to you when Hon. Smart Yomi Asekutu was considered as the candidate of our great party for the Warri North Local Government Council Chairmanship election, wherein I was one of the contestants during the primary, and you promised to consider me when the new DESOPADEC Board would be inaugurated. Your Excellency, today you have made good on your promise.
