Oborevwori Dissolves Boards of Commissions, Agencies, Parastatals

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the dissolution of boards of commissions, agencies and parastatals in Delta State.

The development was contained in a public notice signed by the Secretary to State Government, Kingsley Emu on Tuesday.

The dissolution however, exempted the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC), Civil Service Commission, among others.

The dissolved boards were also directed to handover to administrative heads with immediate effect.

FLOOD: Oborevwori Orders Demolition of Buildings on Waterways

The notice read;

“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Deltans, that in exercise of his Constitutional Powers and also, for public interest, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of all State Government Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies.

“For the purpose of clarity, the dissolution does not affect the following bodies:

1) Civil Service Commission;

ii) Judicial Service Commission;

III) Delta State Independent Electoral Commission;

iv) House of Assembly Service Commission;

v) Local Government Service Commission;

vi) Delta State Oll Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC);

vii) Governing Councils of Educational Institutions; and vill) Delta State Board of Internal Revenue.

“By this announcement Chief Executive Officers of the affected Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies are requested to hand over to the administrative heads in their respective offices.”
