Bisaloo Wins Jude Gbaboyor Soccer Championship

Bisaloo Football Club on Sunday won the maiden edition of the Jude Gbaboyor Soccer Championship.

Bisaloo overcame host team, Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy 4-1 on penalties following a scoreless 90 minutes.

Both teams blew away good scoring chances in a keenly contested encounter at the Isaba Grammar School Field.

At the shoot-out, Bisaloo scored all four of their spot kicks while the host team managed to score just the first of their kicks.

For their win, Bisaloo secured the trophy and the N1 million cash prize, while Jude Gbaboyor FA settled for N500,000 cash alongside their silver medal.

Meanwhile, Lords Honour FC defeated Jaygreat FC 1-0 in the third place play-off to secure the bronze medal and a N300,000 cash prize.

Addressing newsmen at the award presentation ceremony, organizer of the tournament, Engr. Jude Gbaboyor said the competition “lived to expectations as several talented footballers have been discovered and we will do our best to groom them into future stars of the round leather game.”
