BREAKING: Tinubu Presents Academic Documents in Court

Tinubu Presents Academic Documents in Court

President Bola Tinubu has presented his academic records before the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that President Tinubu tendered copies of his educational records from the Chicago State University before the tribunal on Tuesday when he began his defence in the petition filed against him by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The documents tendered by the President’s lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) also included a 2007 letter from the United States Embassy in Nigeria, which absolved Tinubu of any criminal liability in the US, and a letter of request from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to the US Embassy.

The academic records from the Chicago State University which consists of 12 documents in total, were certified on June 28, 2023 by Jamar C. Orr, the Associate General Counsel, Office of the Legal Affairs, Chicago State University.

Tinubu’s lawyer also presented six documents relating to immigration and visa records of the President’s trips to the US by between 2011 and 2021, among other documents.
