The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) has merged the judgement day of a suit seeking the nullification of the victor of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shetimma in the 2023 election.

The petition was brought by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM, Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi, and Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate in the February 25 presidential election.

According to reports, Tribunal shifted the ruling in APM’s petition which was scheduled for Friday morning so that it can be delivered alongside the judgments regarding Obi and Atiku Abubakar’s

The presiding justice on the petition, Justice Haruna Tsammani, announced that the court intends to rule on the APM petition on the same day as the PDP/Atiku Abubakar and Obi/LP.

APM’s petition held that Shettima had double nominations as a senatorial and vice presidential candidate before the February 25 polls.

Also, the party prayed to the court to nullify Tinubu’s election, saying that the process through which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner was “flawed.”

Justice Tsammani told the court on Friday that APM’s judgement would be reserved and promised to communicate a new date to the parties.

INEC, Tinubu, Shettima, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ibrahim Masari were respondents in APM’s petition.
