Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Party (APC) has taken over the leadership of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.
The development follows the widely reported resignation of the Senator Abdullahi Adamu as National Chairman of the APC over the weekend.
The former lawmaker reportedly tendered his resignation alongside with the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Kyari led a seven-member team of the NWC to a meeting inside his office on Monday morning.

Omisore also arrived later at the secretariat to join others in the meeting.
Kyari was accompanied by Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West) Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter.
