Women’s hurdles world record hold, Tobi Amusan, has been charged with anti-doping rule violation.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the anti-doping charge was disclosed by Amusan via a post on Instagram.
“Today the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has charged me with an alleged rule violation for having 3 missed tests in 12 months,” she posted.
The development has raised doubt on her participation in the forthcoming world championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Amusan set a new world record for the women’s 100m hurdles after clocking 12.12 seconds at last year’s World Athletics Championships.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old athlete has vowed to clear herself of the charges before the world championships next month.
“I intend to fight this charge and will have my case decided by a tribunal of 3 arbitrators before the start of next month’s World Championships,” she said.
“I am a clean athlete, and I am regularly; (maybe more than the usual) tested by the AIU – I was tested within days of my third ‘missed test.’
“I have faith that this will be resolved in my favour and that I will be competing at the World Championships in August.”
Meanwhile, Amusan won the 100 metres hurdles at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on Sunday, setting a new meeting record of 12.34 seconds.
