The ongoing national election of the Ijaw Youth Council has been greeted with continued rowdiness and confusion.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the IYC election taking place at the Izon Ware Hall in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital has left members present in a confused state.
According to the schedule of the election released by the Electoral Committee chaired by Solomon Urang, the exercise would be preceded by a convention at same venue on Tuesday, July 18.
However, that was not the case as issues of delegates list and harmonization of differences overwhelmed the convention.

The Electoral Committee then released a memo announcing for delegates accreditation at the Peace Park in Yenagoa for 11am on Wednesday, but the exercise was also marred with more confusion and rowdiness.
Neither members of the electoral committee or a full turn out of delegates was seen at the venue for the accreditation.

Delegates to be split 50/50 – Igbifa
Addressing newsmen at the Peace Park, President Peter Igbifa demanded for the supposed 110 delegates to split 50/50 among both factions of the electoral committee.
According to Igbifa, the move will effect fairness and equity for among both factions of the committee.
Vowing to handover power power before midnight, Igbifa assured that all attempts by enemies of Ijaw nation to frustrate the elections will not come to pass.
As of press time, there was no sign of elections even as back and forth trail the exercise at the Izon Ware.
