The Speaker of the 5th Mobile Parliament of the Ijaw Youth Council, Bob Collins Igetei has been declared acting President of IYC.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Igetei was declared acting IYC President by outgoing incumbent Deputy President, Saviour Olali following a unanimous vote by attendees of the congress, after a motion by Prince Okenema and JP Owoupele.
Announcing the decision, Olali said the move is in line with the constitution of council, adding that Igetei will take over as acting President upon the expiring of Peter Igbifa’s tenure by midnight.
Meanwhile, Gilpin Okesiyesinma was declared new chairman of the electoral committee, replacing Igbifa’s protege, Solomon Urang.

The electoral convention, which held at the Izon Warri hall in Yenagoa, was mostly marred with rowdiness and confusion over issues of delegate list.
The exercise was greeted with fighting which broke at shortly after the convention was declared open by President Igbifa.
The fracas broke out the moment Igbifa handed over to the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Solomon Urang to declare announce the delegate list.
However, the convention was declared closed and the elections postponed by Olali.
