Rivers NYSC Orientation Camp Rated Best in Nigeria (PHOTOS)

Trending photos of a 5,000-seater auditorium for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp at Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area has been termed jaw-dropping by Nigerians.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the facility was built by former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.

On Friday, July 14, the NYSC rated the facility as the best nationwide.

The swearing-in of the 2023 Batch B, Stream 1 Course for corps members deployed to Rivers took place at the Permanent Orientation Camp.

Rivers Coordinator of NYSC, George Mfongang emphasized the state government’s unwavering support for the Corps.

According to Mfongang, the state government’s support was evident through the provision of a continuous monthly allowance, logistics to the secretariat, renovation of official quarters, dining hall, and the delivery of two 250KVA generators, and 500KVA transformers.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Dr Kenneth Gbali, expressed a commitment to sustaining the government’s generosity to the Corps.

Fubara said:

As vanguards of positive change to bring your expertise, ingenuity, energy, resourcefulness and passion to the table as you bring about more quality of life to Rivers people.

“As one of the most enlightened stratum of the society, I charge you to lead from the front in the fight against societal evils. As the nation goes through problems of evolving into a peaceful, prosperous and egalitarian society, you must display exemplary character and conduct at all times in order to influence and drive positive society.”

The Governor affirmed that the people of Ogoni, particularly the leaders and stakeholders of Nonwa-Gbam Tai, deserve the state’s utmost gratitude for consistently creating a peaceful and harmonious environment for the orientation exercises that have taken place over the years.

Chief Judge, Hon Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, who was represented by Hon Justice C N Wali, administered the Oath of Allegiance to a total of 1639 Corps members at the Rivers camp at the orientation exercise.
