Despite Australia’s relentless pressure in the final stages, Nigeria held on to secure their first tournament win and claim the top spot in Group B ahead of the last round of group-stage matches.

Notable performances from players like Ohale, who put her body on the line to score, and Ajibade, who was a creative force for Nigeria, made a significant impact on the game.

With the victory, Nigeria now looks forward to their final group-stage match against already-eliminated Ireland, while Australia will face Canada.

These matches will determine the two qualifying teams for the last 16 in Group B.
