Mateo Kovacic, the Croatian midfielder, recently hailed Pep Guardiola as the best coach in the world after spending just two weeks working with him at Manchester City.

Kovacic joined Man City from Chelsea for £25 million (€29m/$31m) during the summer transfer window.

Despite the short time they’ve spent together, Kovacic expressed his admiration for Guardiola’s coaching prowess and believes the Spanish manager’s ideas are on a whole different level.

During his initial weeks at Manchester City, Kovacic featured in two friendly games with the European champions.

The Croatian midfielder is thoroughly enjoying his time under Guardiola’s tutelage at City, and he can already see the immense impact of the manager’s innovative ideas on the team.

Kovacic was brought in as a direct replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who departed the club to join Barcelona earlier in the summer.

The 29-year-old midfielder demonstrated his skills in a substitute appearance during City’s 5-3 victory over Yokohama F Marinos and earned a place in the starting lineup for the match against Bayern Munich, which the English champions won 2-1.

As Kovacic continues to work closely with Guardiola and embrace his coaching methods, City fans and football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate witnessing the team’s progress under the guidance of what Kovacic believes is the best coach in the world.
