Despite failing to beat Ireland, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have secured qualification for the knockout stages of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

During their final Group B game on July 31, 2023, the Super Falcons played a goalless draw against the Republic of Ireland.

With five points, Nigeria finished behind co-hosts Australia in Group B, as Australia secured a maximum of three points against Canada with a 3-0 win, leading the group with six points.

Football fans were disappointed with Monday’s result, as they had hoped to witness the Super Falcons’ impressive form after their remarkable 3-2 victory over Australia.
