World Bank President, Ajay Banga is set to embark on a three-day visit to Nigeria, starting on Thursday.
During his visit, Banga will hold meetings with President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima.
His visit was part of a global tour aimed at shaping a new direction for the 78-year-old institution.
As part of his itinerary, Banga will visit a World Bank-financed mini-grid power plant that provides solar energy to an entire community.

He will also visit a woman-owned business that has created over 1,500 service-sector jobs for young Nigerians.
Furthermore, the World Bank will facilitate discussions with representatives from the private sector and civil society.
Banga’s visit to Nigeria followed a two-day visit to Ethiopia and he will be accompanied by his wife, Ritu Banga.
A statement regarding his visit read:
“Banga will focus his time in Nigeria on identifying opportunities to create jobs for young people and women, addressing energy needs and renewable energy, and further exploring the potential for digitisation.”
