Brazil experienced a humiliating exit from the Women’s World Cup group stage, securing a historic spot in the last 16 for Jamaica with a goalless draw on Wednesday.

Jamaica, on the other hand, grew into the game and had their moments, with Bunny Shaw coming close to scoring in the final 10 minutes.

As winners of the Copa America and one of the tournament favourites, they seemed devoid of ideas throughout the game, experiencing group-stage elimination for the first time since 1995.

Jamaica

In the last 16, Jamaica will face the winner of Group H, with Colombia currently leading the pack.

Meanwhile, France secured their spot in the knockout rounds by winning Group F with a 6-3 victory over Panama.

They are poised to meet Germany in a highly anticipated clash unless Wednesday’s matches bring dramatic changes.
