Operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited have yet again intercepted a vessel conveying stolen crude oil in Delta.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the vessel identified as MT Praisel was apprehended in the Koko of Warri North Local Government Area by Tantita.
The 1,117 tons vessel was accosted on Wednesday carrying about MT Praisel was intercepted on Wednesday carrying 8,100 barrels of crude.
MT Praisel was being escorted by some naval officers as of the time it was intercepted.

According to the Tantita operatives, the vessel was flying a Togolese flag, while the Navy boat was led by a senior naval commander.

They were said to have been met with heavy resistance from the naval commander, who refused them access to inspect the vessel and threatened to deal with them.
It took the intervention of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, who authorised the Tantita operatives to inspect the vessel.
It was discovered that the vessel was only authorised to carry products by the navy without any approvals from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The vessel has since been taken into custody for further investigation.
