Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid, will be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a severe injury sustained during a warm-up session.
As reported by the Athletic, Courtois suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury, which is expected to disrupt his season.

The extent of his absence is uncertain – he may miss the entirety of the 2022/23 season or a substantial portion, with a potential return to fitness around April representing the best-case scenario.
To facilitate his recovery process, Courtois is scheduled to undergo surgery in the upcoming days after being carried off the field on a stretcher following the injury.

In the absence of Courtois, Ukraine’s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is likely to take his place when Real Madrid faces Athletic Bilbao on August 12 at San Mames Barria.

Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has already compiled a list of prominent goalkeepers as potential replacements for Courtois, with David de Gea, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Yassine Bounou among the options.
Courtois made the switch from Chelsea in the Premier League to Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, signing a six-year contract with the club.

Throughout the previous season, he participated in 31 La Liga matches for Real Madrid.
