Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an unusual ‘non-aggression pact’ regarding player transfers, putting an end to years of back-and-forth poaching.

The tensions between the two clubs began when Barcelona tried to acquire Marco Verratti in 2016.

The situation worsened as PSG took advantage of Barcelona’s financial struggles, securing Lionel Messi in a free transfer in 2021 and now edging closer to signing Ousmane Dembele.

In an effort to ease the strain, both teams, as per a report from Sport, have agreed to establish a non-aggression ‘pact,’ committing not to sign players from each other in the future.

This arrangement isn’t legally binding, merely a verbal understanding, leaving room for uncertainty down the line.

However, considering Barcelona’s financial limitations compared to PSG’s backing, the deal appears to favour the Spanish club.

Whether this agreement holds remains to be seen, but it looks like Dembele might be the final player to switch between these teams unless a mutually accepted deal arises.
