In an impressive victory, former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua secured a knockout win over Robert Helenius at London’s O2 Arena, ending the match in just seven rounds.

Helenius managed to surprise many by taking Joshua into the second half of the fight. 

However, Joshua quickly turned the tables with a powerful right cross to Helenius’ jaw, resulting in a decisive knockdown at 1:27 of the seventh round.

Joshua had originally been slated to face his old rival, Dillan Whyte, during this event.

Unfortunately, the bout had to be called off due to adverse analytical findings in Whyte’s pre-fight anti-doping tests.

With just a week’s notice, Joshua found himself in need of a replacement opponent. 

Robert Helenius

Robert Helenius, fresh from a three-round victory over Mika Mielonen the previous weekend in Finland, stepped up to take on the challenge.

After a previous knockout by Deontay Wilder, Helenius was determined to make a comeback in the competitive realm of the heavyweight division.

He displayed his determination by launching an aggressive assault in the opening round, targeting Joshua’s guard with swift punches.

Joshua exhibited patience throughout the match, strategically wearing down Helenius with well-timed combinations. 

Eventually, he capitalized on the opportunity and delivered the knockout punch, concluding the contest remarkably.
