Lionel Messi has secured his place as Inter Miami’s third-highest scorer of all time, tallying his ninth goal during a victorious Leagues Cup match against Philadelphia Union.

In his Inter Miami journey, Lionel Messi found the back of the net for the ninth time, equalling the goal counts of Josef Martinez and Robert Taylor on the historical list of top scorers.

Among the contributors to this success is Lionel Messi, marking his ninth goal for the club and elevating him to a shared third position in the all-time scoring records.

Since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain, Messi’s influence has been transformative for Miami.

Under Tata Martino’s guidance, the team has achieved an impressive six-game winning streak, including a decisive penalty shoot-out triumph over FC Dallas, with their esteemed Argentine captain leading the way.

Notably, Messi has rapidly ascended to the third spot on the list of all-time highest scorers for Inter Miami, joining the ranks of Josef Martinez and Robert Taylor.

Occupying the second place just ahead of Messi is Leonardo Campana, boasting a count of 16 goals. 

At the summit of this scoring hierarchy is Gonzalo Higuain, Messi’s former teammate from Argentina, who has secured an impressive 29 goals for Inter Miami since the club’s establishment in 2018.

As anticipation builds, the Herons are set to compete in their inaugural Leagues Cup final on Sunday evening, where they will face off against Nashville.
