The Court of Appeal confirmed Lamidi Apapa as the genuine national President of the Labor Party (LP).
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Thursday’s court decision followed a legal battle between Apapa and Julius Auber, who was declared president of the LP by the appeals court in early August.
The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish the names of all the candidates presented by the Apapa-led LP faction in the Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa State gubernatorial elections.
On April 5, 2023, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Supreme Court banned Julius Abure and three other members of the LP from running as national leaders of the party.

Judge Muazu subsequently ordered the suspension of Abure and other officers to be suspended in another ruling issued on May 19, 2023.
The Edo State Supreme Court agreed with the decision in its ruling on May 28, 2023, and declared Abure as the national president of the LP.
The above view was also reinforced by the ruling of the Edo State Court of Appeal, confirming Abure as party chairman.
