The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a member of the Bayelsa State governorship election campaign council for November 11.
Despite his appointment as Minister by President Bola Tinubu, Wike has not renounced his membership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The campaign council, led by Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State, has Wike as the sixth member.

The Council also featured Mohammed Badaru, the immediate past Governor of Jigawa State and current Defence Minister, as co-chair, along with Senate President Godswill Akpabio and George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who are also listed as co-chairs.
The APC has also established campaign councils for Kogi and Imo states.
It named Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun as the chairman of the Kogi campaign council.
Abiodun will be assisted as co-chairs by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, Umar Bago, Niger State Governor, and Uba Sani, Kaduna State Governor.
Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu will chair the Imo State campaign council.
Hon Francis Nwifiru, Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment will assist Otu in the 138-member lists.
