Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 election has labeled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the headquater of fraud in the nation.
Adebayo made the declaration during a virtual interactive session on the HaveYourSay247 platform, moderated by Rudolf Okonkwo.
Adebayo drew attention to his prior cautionary statements regarding the lack of transparency within the electoral body, which he had expressed a year and a half before the presidential election scheduled for February 25.
Specifically, he recounted how, during a colloquium held at the esteemed Rockview Hotel in Abuja on October 1, 2021, he alerted the organizers, which included notable figures such as Pat Utomi and Attahiru Jega, to the deceptive nature of INEC’s promise to transmit election results electronically.
According to him, INEC’s actions were merely a facade, designed to mislead the public.
Speaking about his campaign during the election, he said he traveled to every corner of the country.
On why he didn’t challenge the outcome of the presidential election in court, the SDP candidate said:
“The court is not a place you go and complain in general terms.
“99% of wrongs in society cannot be remedied by the court.
“When you approach the court, you have to narrow your complaints down to specific legal issues. This is something that election petitioners must understand.”
