Barcelona star, Lamine Yawal has broken Celestine Babayaro’s UEFA Champions League.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that former Super Eagles defender, Babayaro set the record of the youngest player to start a UEFA Champions League match in season 1994/95.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle United defender set the record while starring for Belgian Pro League side, RSC Anderlecht.
However, the 30 years old record was broken by Yamal who started Barcelona’s defeat of Porto on Wednesday night.

Aged just 16 years and 83 days, the start made him the youngest ever player to start a Champions League match.
Yamal was unable to finish the tie after leaving the pitch for the loo and but was could not return after feeling unwell.
He was forcefully replaced in the 80th minute after the Catalans had played with ten men for nearly ten minutes.
Explaining the scenario, manager Xavi said: “Lamine Yamal was unwell. He had an illness, he had been telling me for a while.
“I took advantage of a break to tell him to be quick and go to the toilet, but in the end they told me that he wouldn’t be able to get back on the pitch.”
The LaLiga outfit managed to see out the fixture despite Gavi being sent off in injury time.
