The Rivers State House of Assembly has elected Ehie Edison as its new Speaker.
The development is coming amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
A faction of the state’s House Of Assembly backing Sim Fubara has impeached the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the House of Assembly members and loyalists of Fubara replaced Amaewhule’s with Edison as the new Speaker.
The panel also suspended the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Chibuzor Amadi as plans to impeach the governor heightens.
