Detained Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, aka, Naira Marley, and his partner, Sam Lally have sued the Nigerian Police over the violation of their fundamental rights.
Other defendants in the suit were the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Idowu Owohunwa, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Homicide Division, Panti, Mr Waheed Ayilara, and the Yaba State Chief Magistrate Court.
Both Marley and Larry filed a N40 million breach of fundamental human rights suit before the Lagos High Court, Igbosere through Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Olalekan Ojo.

Ojo argued that his client’s October 4 detention expired on October 26 going by the district court’s order.
The Lawyer, therefore, sought a court order for the immediate release of the accused.
Recall that Police arrested Marley and Lally in connection with the death of Nigerian artiste Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad days after the death and burial of the latter.
Meanwhile, no hearing date has been fixed for the suit.
