The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reversed the disqualification of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva.
Delivering the judgement, Justuce Binta Zubairu held that Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court was wrong in ordering the sack of Sylva as a candidate of the APC in the November 11 governorship election in the state.
Okorowo had disqualified Sylva from contesting the November 11 election in Bayelsa State on October 9.
According to him, Sylva have been sworn in twice and ruled for five years as governor of the state, adding that the APC Candidate will breach the 1999 constitution if allowed to contest again.
