Rex Kondwani: Man Commits Suicide After Wife Donated Money to Church

A 30-year-old Saifullahi Salisu of Shata, Maikunkele, in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, has reportedly hanged himself.

Shata reportedly took his own life following his inability to settle a debt of N250,000 he owed people in the area.

The incident, which occurred on Monday morning has thrown people of the community into confusion.

According to some residents of the area, the deceased body was discovered hanging from a rope in his bedroom by his neighbours.

His body has reportedly been buried.

His girlfriend, identified as Rebecca Musa, stated: “He told me that those he owed have started demanding their money, and he couldn’t pay back. He told me that the issue was disturbing him, and he didn’t know how he was going to settle the debts. I didn’t know it would result in him killing himself over it.”

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger State Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the development.
