Off-cycle Polls: Why APC won Imo, Kogi – Gov Uzodinma | Daily Report Nigeria

Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma has explained why the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the off-cycle election in his state and Kogi.

The governor claimed that his party won the elections due to its growing popularity,  insisting that Nigerians are happy with the All Progressives Congress, APC, following the impact of President Bola Tinubu.

Recall that, Governor Uzodimma won his reelection bid after defeating rivals from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Labour Party.

Also, Usman Ododo of the APC won in Kogi State, but PDP won in Bayelsa State with Governor Douye Diri reelected.

few days after their victory, Ododo and Uzodimma visited Tinubu at the presidential Villa to present him with their certificates of return.

Speaking during the visit, the Imo state governor said: “You recall that the election of November 11, our great party, APC, is growing in popularity and came out successfully in Kogi and Imo states.

“Our victory at the polls shows that Nigerians are still very happy with the APC. Nigerians voted en-mass for the President and this victory validates this claim through the voters in Kogi state and Imo state.

“So we have come to honour the president and also use the opportunity to thank him for his support, advice, and wisdom.

“He imparted on us and achievements he has recorded since he became the president which most of us leverage on to be able to convince the voters to vote for us.”
