President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a Military Barracks in Plateau State with immediate effect.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the move is coming on the heels of several attacks which resulted in the loss of over 200 lives across Bokkos, Mangu, and Barkin Ladi local government areas.

President Tinubu has thus ordered for the military barracks to be cited in Miller Farm (Gada Biyu) Mbar District of Bokkos local government area.

The President subsequently directed General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defense Staff, to coordinate the implementation the order to address the security challenges in the state.

Once operational, the barracks will be expected to swiftly address the high spate of relentless attacks and killings in Bokkos, Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Ladi, and neighbouring Nasarawa state.

Recall that there was a simultaneous looting and sacking of certain communities, and loss of lives on Christmas Eve of 2023 in Bokkos, Mangu, and Barkin Ladi local government areas.
