Renowned American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has embraced Nigerian culture by adopting the name “Ifunanya.”

The suggestion came from Nigerian media personality Drea Okeke during a recent interview, and Lopez readily accepted it.

Okeke explained that the name perfectly suits the American superstar because she embodies a spirit of love, as “Ifunanya” translates to “love” in the Igbo language.

Jennifer Lopez asked, “What is my [Nigerian] name?”

The host replied, “Because you’re a certified lover girl, this name means love. It is Ifunanya. That’s your name, love.

Lopez reckoned, “Ifunanya! Call me Ifunanya.”

Okeke said for Lopez’s husband, Ben Affleck, his Nigerian name would be “Obim. That means my heart.”

Lopez concoded, “Obim? I like that. I will call all my kids that.”
