Nigeria and the Women for Africa Foundation, a Spanish organization, have partnered to advance education, leadership training, and empowerment for women within the country.

During a courtesy visit to the director-general of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development in Abuja, Teresa Langley, the director-general of the Women for Africa Foundation, stated that the collaboration aims to cultivate leadership skills among Nigerian women.

In addition, it seeks to unleash women’s potential, challenge stereotypes prevalent in Africa, and enhance access to research and documentation for developmental and planning processes.

Patricia Gomez, the first secretary at the Spanish embassy, stressed Spain’s honor in discovering the Women for Africa Foundation within their private sector.

Gomez commended their forward-thinking approach in recognizing the abundant talent existing on the continent.

Asabe Vilita-Bashir, the director-general of the MBNCWD, affirmed that the partnership will empower women and elevate their participation in leadership roles.

Vilita-Basdir assured them that the center’s mission aligns with the foundation’s core values, focusing on research, documentation, training, and women’s empowerment.

In light of this, she pointed out the importance of continued collaboration with the organization and other stakeholders to empower women economically, politically, and in terms of leadership skills.
