In a recent podcast episode hosted by comedian Teju Babyface, Nollywood legend Funsho Adeolu shared his perspective on actors transitioning into politics.
Adeolu boldly asserted that any actor who delves into politics cannot be considered a true actor. He emphasized that actors who become politicians are, in his view, not genuine actors.
During the discussion on the Deep Drive podcast, Adeolu remained steadfast in his belief that actors should refrain from engaging in politics. He expressed his conviction that an actor’s primary focus should be on their craft rather than pursuing political aspirations.

He said, “A lot of these people are not actors. An actor shall not be a politician.”
The host, Teju inferred, “I know one who is a politician in Lagos, are you saying he is not an actor?”
Adeolu replied, “Yes. I don’t consider him as an actor. An actor should not be in politics. If you’re an actor who is in politics you were never an actor.”
