Renowned Nigerian artist, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, has reached an agreement to resolve the breach of contract lawsuit brought against him by the former President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited at the High Court of Delta State, Effurun.

Davido has opted to settle the dispute outside of court. As part of the terms outlined in a N2 billion lawsuit against him, Davido has agreed to make a payment of N30 million to the claimant within seven days, serving as a partial contribution towards the claimant’s outstanding legal fees.

The initial lawsuit, filed by the claimant through his legal representative, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, sought N2 billion in general damages against Davido. Additionally, the claimant requested N150 million for legal and professional fees, along with an extra N30 million to cover the cost of filing the suit.

Named as defendants in the lawsuit were David Adeleke, aka “Davido,” and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

Following extensive discussions and negotiations aimed at reaching a mutual resolution, both parties have agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition scheduled for October 4, 2024.

As part of the consent judgment, it was further agreed that the $94,500 already paid by the claimant to the defendants would be considered as payment for their performance at the event.
