Nigerian musicians Burna Boy and Rema clinched major wins at the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards held in the United States.

During the live broadcast on FOX, hosted by rapper Ludacris, Burna Boy and Rema stood out among the winners.

Rema’s track ‘Calm Down’ featuring Selena Gomez secured the Best Collaboration of the Year award.

Meanwhile, American pop sensation Beyoncé was honored with the iHeart Innovator Award, while Cher received the iHeart Icon Award.

Taylor Swift dominated the winners’ list, bagging six awards, including Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.

With their victories, Burna Boy and Rema joined the ranks of Wizkid and Tems as the only Nigerian artists to have received iHeart Radio Music Awards.

Prior to this success, Burna Boy had faced disappointment at previous award ceremonies, including the 2023 BET Hip-hop Awards and the 2024 Grammys, where he received multiple nominations but didn’t secure wins. Additionally, he missed out on accolades at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards and the 2024 Brit Awards.
