Italian football pundit Giovanni Scotto has speculated on potential destinations for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Scotto believes that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the reigning champions of Ligue 1 in France, are in pole position to secure Osimhen’s signature. Despite interest from English Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal, Scotto sees PSG as the frontrunners.

Despite Osimhen being under contract with Napoli until 2025, it is widely anticipated that he will depart the Diego Maradona Stadium at the end of the season. Napoli intends to utilize the funds from Osimhen’s sale to overhaul their squad for the following season.

Chelsea, in particular, are desperate to bolster their striking options and have identified Osimhen as a primary target. However, PSG may face challenges in complying with Financial Fair Play Regulations, which could impede any potential transfer deal.

PSG’s interest in Victor Osimhen stems from their desire to secure a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, adding further weight to Scotto’s prediction regarding the Nigerian striker’s future destination.

“De Laurentiis was reassured: Osimhen’s 120 million will come , I believe from Paris Saint Germain,” Scotto told CalcioNapoli, via Area Napoli.

“This money will compensate for the lost Champions League revenues and partially those from the Club World Cup.”
