FG Resumes Prosecution of Boko Haram Suspects

The Nigerian government has announced plans to resume prosecuting Boko Haram suspects held in detention facilities in Kainji, Niger State.

National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu made the announcement during a two-day High-level African Counter-terrorism Summit in Abuja on Monday.

Ribadu stressed the importance of actively gathering intelligence on Boko Haram and the Islamic State–West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The comprehensive approach aimed to address evolving security threats posed by these terrorist groups.

The summit was attended by African leaders and delegates, including Vladimir Voronkov, the Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism at the United Nations (UN) Office on Counter-Terrorism.

It underscored Nigeria’s commitment to the UN Counter-terrorism agreement.
