At least 30 persons have been reported dead with many others injured following a gas explosion in Agbor, Ika South local government area of Delta state.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred late Friday evening at the popular Osadebe Gas plant along the expressway, close to Eye clinic in Agbor.
While the cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained at press time, witnesses have described the incident as a huge loss.

According to eyewitnesses, several houses near the gas plant were gutted by the fire, reducing them to ashes.
In another footage on Twitter by @basseymoh_, the furnace and the resulting damage was huge.
“Osadebe Gas Plant near Untouchable, Lagos/Asaba Expressway Agbor is on fire. Several persons reportedly burnt with several houses on fire. The Gas plant is Close to Stevenson Hotel,” Bassey said.
He pegged the number of casualties above 30, with many others left with various degrees of fire injuries.
Another source showing gory images of the incident indicated that attempts to rescue the victims was frustrated by the unavailability of equipments at the hospitals close by.

No official statement has been released by the Delta State Fire Service Command as well as the state government.
