On Tuesday, Ukraine’s security service (SBU) announced that it has uncovered and foiled an alleged plot by Russian agents to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The SBU stated that the assassination plot included other high-ranking Ukrainian officials.

It added that a network of agents from Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) was planning to carry out the assassinations.

In a statement on Telegram, the SBU revealed that the FSB agents were detained and their plans were thwarted by Ukrainian counterintelligence.
The statement read:
“Our investigators and counterintelligence officers successfully prevented the FSB’s plans to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other top military and political leaders.
“The plot was exposed and the perpetrators were apprehended, ensuring the safety of Ukraine’s leadership.”
