On Wednesday, the Delta State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Speaker Dennis Guwor, confirmed the appointment of several key officials.
Anthony Elekeokuri, a former lawmaker, was confirmed as the Director-General of the Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA).
Lucky Umoru was confirmed as the Chairman of DIDA, while Roseline Amioku and Ikechukwu Madumezie were confirmed as Chairman and Member of the State Civil Service Commission, respectively.
Ugbaka Ikenna was also confirmed as the Auditor-General for Local Governments.

The confirmations followed a thorough screening process on the floor of the assembly, during which the nominees were grilled by lawmakers.

The nominees were initially forwarded to the Assembly by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for screening and possible confirmation.
Guwor commended the lawmakers for their active participation in the screening process, which he revealed was a testament to the assembly’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
He also congratulated the confirmed nominees, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the governor.
The Speaker charged the nominees to discharge their duties with integrity, professionalism, and dedication, and to work towards the betterment of Delta State.
