Bayern Munich’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, explained why they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night.
Joselu’s two late goals secured the win for Real Madrid, despite Alphonso Davies giving Bayern hope with a second-half goal. This result sends Real Madrid to the final, where they’ll face Borussia Dortmund on June 1.
After the match, Tuchel spoke to DAZN, acknowledging the disappointment: “It hurts. It’s going to take some time to get over this, but I can say we left everything on the pitch.”

Tuchel highlighted a number of issues that contributed to the loss: “It’s hard to accept, but that’s part of the game. No regrets, but we had too many injuries, too many substitutions, and too many players cramping up.”
This loss means Bayern Munich will finish the season without a trophy, and Tuchel is set to leave the club after only 14 months.
