The Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, collapsed during his money laundering trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday.
His trial had already faced delays, and Gambaryan’s collapse led to further stalling of the trial.
It began with Gambaryan failing to step forward when his name was called, prompting Justice Nwite to inquire about his whereabouts.

A lawyer assisted Gambaryan to the dock, but he slumped and was seated in the front row.

Gambaryan’s lawyer, Mark Mordi, attributed his client’s collapse to his worsening health as he completes his eighth week of incarceration in the African nation’s prison system.
Mordi then filed a written application to notify the court. The trial was adjourned till June 20 and 21 for cross-examination and trial.
Gambaryan faces charges of tax evasion, money laundering and terrorism financing alongside his colleague Nadeem Anjarwalla and their firm Binance Holdings Limited.
