Controversial Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has criticized monogamy, claiming it “doesn’t work” and encouraging men to embrace polygamy instead. He argued that having multiple women signifies power and affluence.

Speaking on the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ podcast, Seun stated, “Monogamy doesn’t work. As a powerful man, you must have the support of numerous powerful goddesses. These women are in your life because the ancestors want them there. You share with them.”

He also mentioned his late father, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who had over 100 concubines despite marrying 27 women in one day.

Despite his views, Seun Kuti is publicly known to be married to one woman, his wife Yetunde Kuti.
