The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) said it will conduct the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as scheduled, despite the notice of indefinite strike by the Organized Labour effective from Monday, June 3, 2024.
In a statement, WAEC management appealed to stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Principals, students, Supervisors, and Parents, to take note that the exam will be held as planned across all member countries of WAEC.
The Council explained that Nigerian students should not be disadvantaged by missing the exam, and therefore, all necessary arrangements should be made for candidates to sit for the exam.
