Flamingos Secure Dominant 4-1 Win Over Liberia in World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria’s Flamingos secured a 4-1 victory over Liberia at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday night.

Bankole Olowookere’s team dominated the first leg of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round from the outset.

Shakirat Moshood opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 19th minute, followed by Peace Effiong, who doubled the lead 10 minutes later.

Harmony Chidi netted the third goal nine minutes before halftime, and substitute Blessing Ifitezue scored the fourth goal for Nigeria 16 minutes from the end.

Liberia managed to pull one back with a penalty in the 87th minute.

The second leg will take place next weekend at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
